Obituary

Ray passed peacefully in his sleep at his home on Friday, September 20, 2019. Born in Walkerton, Raymond Alfred James Anstett of Seaforth, was in his 84th year.

Loving father of Kim and Gary Love of Hensall, Doug and Nancy Anstett of Egmondville, Joe Anstett of Seaforth, Cindy Visscher of Wyoming, Judy Brand of Clinton and Raymond and Terri Anstett of Dublin. Cherished Popsi of 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Mary Reddon of Guelph and Edward and Mary Anstett of Brantford. Uncle Rayme will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Leona (née Irving) Anstett, parents John and Rose (née Beingessner) Anstett, and also by two sisters and seven brothers.

Ray was a familiar face on the main street of Seaforth for 45 years at Anstett Jewellers and as the owner of Seaforth Jewellers. He was an avid hockey player, playing well into his 70’s, and he was a fixture on the blue line for the Seaforth Beavers for many years.

To all my 'Seaforth Cousins', Kim, Doug, Joey, Cindy, Judy and Ray Jr., so sorry for the loss of your Dad. He was a 'stellar' Uncle too, who shared stories and teased us as little ones, and kept us on our toes while we leaned to play solo and euchre. I have fond memories of your visits to Walkerton where we played in the creek and he kept us busy fishing for minnows or chub. In later years he was a good companion to my Mom when they lost their partners. His house was always open and when she was lonely he lifted her spirits with a laugh. often taking trips to see relatives in Windsor and Guelph. Sorry to have missed this opportunity to pay my respects in person.

So sorry to hear of Rays passing. He was a great neighbor always stopping to have a chat on his walks and a big wave on his way by in his car. He will be missed in the neighborhood.

Kim & Gary & Family - please accept my condolences in the loss of your dad. Met him a couple of times at the jewelry store in Seaforth after my mom had passed away - he was a very nice man with kind words. Marg Deichert
