Unexpectedly, at Seaforth Community Hospital, Margaret Beth Knight, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019. In her 87 years among us, Marg was a source of unconditional love and caring within the circle of her family and friends. Her radiant smile and friendly demeanor blessed the lives of all who were privileged to have known her.

Marg will be lovingly remembered by her children Anne and Randy Dayman of Seaforth and Steve and Carolyn Knight of Hensall. Cherishing fond memories of a very special grandma are grandchildren Lindsay Knight, Stacey and Joe Kamerman and Miranda and Jay Nogueira. GG was loved dearly by her great grandchildren Avery, Brodie, Jaden, Carter, Brooklyn, Jordyn and Nash. Marg was loved and respected by her sister-in-law Alma Carter and several nieces and nephews.

In faith, we trust that Marg’s spirit is now reunited in eternal life with her husband Harold (Coog) (2015), grandson Derek (2010), her parents John and Myrtle (née Nichol) Carter, siblings and siblings-in-law Ken Carter, Cleave and Eileen Carter and those in the extended Knight family who have gone on before us.

Visitation will take place at McGlynn Family Funeral Home ( 519-527-1390), 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service to honour Marg’s life will take place on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the funeral home commencing at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow at Seaforth Golf & Country Club. Cremation will take place following the service with interment in Maitlandbank Cemetery at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Cystic Fibrosis or Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Condolences can be shared by visiting Marg’s online memorial at

As a child, growing up in 'Tinker Town' , Hensall, I would see Marg out and about, sweeping her front steps, hanging out her wash or taking it in from the lines ...just like all of the other mothers in the neighbourhood. Marg was not however just like all of the other mothers. She was unique. I came to learn that she had a firm, calm, sensible attitude with a kind, charitable heart when dealing with children and teens and their issues. Later in life, I looked forward to seeing Marg at her check-ups ... a classy lady, who 'took her lumps' and sweetened life with them. She was a gem of those solid folks who made our village 'home'. Sincere sympathy to Steve & Carolyn, Ann & Randy and families.
