Offer a gift of comfort and beauty to a family suffering from loss.
Ab Whitney purchased the funeral home from S. T. Holmes in 1943, and in 1975 sold it to us Ross & Joyce Ribey who retained the Whitney name and called it Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home. They did a major renovation to the building's interior in 1976 and in 1978 the funeral home was expanded to include the dining room and living room of the house. In 1980 the parking lot was enlarged and in 1983 a new garage and storage area was built; the showroom was enlarged and in 1986 a wheel-chair accessable enclosed foyer/entrenceway was constructed.
Ross Ribey passed away in December of 2009 and Joyce along with long-time employee, Ruth Townsend continued to operate the funeral home for the next two years. On November 1, 2011 John and Sandy McGlynn purchased the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home and changed the name to McGlynn Family Funeral Home.
John and Sandy have two boys named Duke and Rory and together as a family they are extremely happy to be planting roots in the Seaforth community.
McGlynn Family Funeral Home (formerly Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home) has a long-standing history in the community and is committed to the families it serves during their time of need. John and Sandy are equally committed to supporting community groups and charities.
