John McGlynn, Owner / Managing Funeral Director
Email: mcglynnffh@gmail.com
Office Phone: 519-527-1390
Fax: 519-527-1769

John McGlynn is the son of Rick and Mary McGlynn.  John gained an appreciation for the values and ideals of rural life in his early years while growing up on a chicken farm between Mount Forest and Harriston.  Following secondary school, John began the education process of the funeral service industry.  In 2002, after completing an apprenticeship with Jerrett Funeral Homes in Toronto, he graduated from Humber College, earning his Funeral Directors License.  While expanding his abilities and knowledge, John served on the staff of Ogden Funeral Home in Toronto, England Funeral Home in Mount Forest and Henry Walser Funeral Home in Kitchener.  Rural roots run deep and in November 2011, John and his wife Sandy, pursued their dream of raising a family among the blessings of small town life and purchased the Whitney Ribey Funeral Home in Seaforth. John, Sandy and their two sons, Duke and Rory, are now actively involved in community life.  John believes that compassion, understanding and dignity are essential to the service provided by McGlynn Family Funeral Home.  He strives to share his wisdom and skills with all the families he serves, with the goal of making the journey through loss as comforting and assuring as possible.

Ruth Townsend, Funeral Director
Office Phone: 519-527-1390
Fax: 519-527-1769

Ruth is a graduate of Humber College Funeral Service Education in 1995.  She apprenticed with Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home from 1991 to 1995, before receiving her funeral director's license.  She is dedicated to serving the families of the surrounding community and has the capability to manage all aspects of the funeral home with confidence and ease.  Upon the death of Ross W. Ribey in 2009, Ruth assumed the role of managing funeral director at Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home and did so until the end of October 2011.  You are sure to find her very kind, compassionate and helpful.  Sandy and John McGlynn are very proud to have her as part of the staff.  Ruth and her husband George are members of Northside United Church in Seaforth.  She served as superintendent and taught Sunday School for many years.  Ruth and her husband George are dedicated members of the Huron County Plowmen's Association.  Ruth has been the coordinator of the organization's princess competition since its inception in 2005.  They are willing supporters of many community activities.  Ruth and George have three married children, six grandsons and one granddaughter, all of whom live within a hour from Seaforth.

Steve Hildebrand

Office Phone: 519-527-1390
Fax: 519-527-1769

Steve Hildebrand has always called Seaforth home.  Many people recall Steve on Seaforth’s Main Street, engaging his creative side as owner of Hildebrand Flowers & Gifts.  A new beginning emerged in Steve’s life, and upon answering the call to ministry, he served as Pastor of Egmondville United Church for nearly fourteen years. Always interested in exploring a fresh endeavor, Steve then sought a new career opportunity and ventured off to Humber College, Toronto in September of 2016. Steve was awarded his Funeral Director’s License in August of 2018 after successfully completing his internship year at McGlynn’s, graduating from the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber and passing the Ontario Funeral Director’s Licensing exams.
The times and seasons of life, have taught much to Steve.  With ways of wisdom, faith and compassion as his guide, Steve will continue to help the people of our community find their way through all that accompanies the death of a loved one.
Steve is married to his wife, Ruth.  They have two grown daughters, Jennie and Emily.  Steve and Ruth’s son Tyler died in childhood.
